Preliminary Level

Age: under 12 - majority under 10
Requirements: Complete knowledge of first Moves in the Field test,
Pre Preliminary by December 1st, 2008 with the intention of testing and taking
private lessons. Minimally, 30 minutes of private lessons with an additional
1 hour of individual practice ice per week.
Skating Skill: Competitors in Preliminary must have passed at least USFS 'Basic 8' level
or ISI 'Freestyle 1' level. Skaters should plan on competing Freestyle and are encouraged to learn
ice dancing.
Expectations: Skaters on this team should feel comfortable executing skills through the
Pre Preliminary MIF test, performing basic turns and steps, skating forward and backward with ease
with good posture.
Skaters selected for a team by the Program Director based on ability.
