Preliminary Level

Age: under 12 - majority under 10
Requirements: Have passed the Pre Preliminary Moves in the Field test by December 1st, 2009. Must take private lessons, minimally 30 minutes of private lessons with an additional
1 hour of individual practice ice per week.
Skating Skill: Competitors in Preliminary must have passed at least USFS 'Basic 8' level
or ISI 'Freestyle 1' level. Skaters should plan on competing Freestyle and are encouraged to learn
ice dancing.
Expectations: Skaters on this team should feel comfortable executing skills through the
Preliminary MIF test, performing basic turns and steps, skating forward and backward with ease
and good posture.
Skaters selected for a team by the Program Director based on ability.
